Live Labs

Practice on Real Infrastructure. Pass the Exam. Do the Job.

Boost eLearning Live Labs launch real cloud tenants, physical network hardware, and security environments directly in your browser. No VM configuration. No teardown. Just the hands-on practice that separates candidates who pass from those who struggle — and professionals who can do the job from those who only know the theory.

What Are Live Labs?

Live Labs are browser-accessible environments connected to actual infrastructure — not simulations. When you configure a Cisco router in a Live Lab, you are issuing commands to real hardware through a terminal session. When you deploy a virtual machine in an Azure Live Lab, you are working in a real Azure tenant provisioned for your session.

The distinction matters for exam preparation and for job readiness. Certification exams increasingly test configuration tasks in performance-based questions. Employers expect new hires to operate confidently in production-like environments on day one. Watching a video walkthrough does not build that confidence. Repeating a lab three times does.

Live Labs are included in every Boost eLearning technical certification course — self-paced, live virtual, and on-site. There is no add-on fee.

How Live Labs Work — Step by Step

Step 1 — Open Your Course Module

Each course module that has an associated lab includes a Launch Lab button. Click it from inside the course player — no separate login or download required.

Step 2 — Environment Provisions Automatically

Within seconds, your dedicated lab environment spins up. Cisco labs connect you to physical rack hardware via terminal. Cloud labs create isolated AWS or Azure tenants assigned only to your session.

Step 3 — Follow the Lab Guide or Explore Freely

A structured lab guide walks you through each objective with step-by-step instructions and expected outputs. Once you complete the guided steps, you can continue exploring — the environment stays active for your full lab window.

Step 4 — Automated Grading

At submission, the lab grader checks your configuration against expected outcomes and returns a score with specific feedback. You see exactly what you got right, what you missed, and why.

Step 5 — Reset and Repeat

Labs can be reset and repeated as many times as you need within your course access period. Repetition is how procedural knowledge becomes instinct.

Step 6 — Resume Progress Across Sessions

If you close the browser mid-lab, your session state is preserved. Pick up exactly where you left off in your next study session.

Lab Environments and Infrastructure

Boost eLearning Live Labs run on multiple infrastructure platforms, matched to each certification’s real-world technology requirements.

NDG NETLAB+

Physical rack-mounted Cisco networking equipment accessible via browser-based terminal. Used for CCNA, CCNP, and related routing-and-switching courses where simulation would fall short of exam expectations.

CloudShare

Virtualized lab environments for multi-system scenarios — including Windows Server, Linux, and security labs. Supports complex multi-node topologies that require multiple machines interacting simultaneously.

AWS Lab Tenants

Isolated AWS accounts provisioned per session for AWS certification labs. Work in real EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, and Lambda environments without risk to any production account.

Microsoft Azure Lab Tenants

Dedicated Azure subscriptions for AZ-900, AZ-104, AZ-500, and related Microsoft certification courses. Provisioned and deprovisioned automatically — no Azure subscription required from the learner.

Course Tracks That Include Live Labs

Live Labs are available across every major technical certification category. The following tracks are fully lab-enabled — each links to the course catalog for that track.

Cisco Networking

CCNA and CCNP lab scenarios on NDG NETLAB+ physical hardware. Configure VLANs, routing protocols, ACLs, and switching topologies exactly as you will in the exam lab portion and in production networks.

Linux Administration

Bash scripting, file system management, user permissions, services, and automation — all on live Linux instances. Covers CompTIA Linux+ and LPIC objectives with real terminal sessions.

Amazon Web Services

AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner through Solutions Architect labs in real AWS accounts. Build architectures, apply IAM policies, and troubleshoot deployments in a live environment.

Microsoft Azure

AZ-900 through AZ-305 and AZ-500 lab coverage in dedicated Azure tenants. Manage identities, configure networking, deploy VMs, and apply security controls in real Azure environments.

Cybersecurity

CompTIA Security+, CySA+, PenTest+, and CEH lab scenarios. Execute controlled penetration tests, analyze SIEM alerts, and configure firewalls in multi-machine isolated environments.

DevOps and Automation

Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipeline labs. Automate infrastructure, manage containers, and deploy pipelines in live environments rather than watching recorded demonstrations.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. Lab environments launch in a browser tab. A stable internet connection and a modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge) are all that is required. For terminal-based labs, a built-in web terminal handles all input — no SSH client or VPN needed.
Lab session windows vary by complexity — most run between 30 minutes and 2 hours. Your remaining time is displayed throughout the session. Labs can be reset and relaunched as many times as you need within your course access period, so running out of time mid-lab is not a problem.
The cloud tenants used in Live Labs are fully managed and isolated accounts provisioned by Boost eLearning. You have no access to billing, and the accounts are deprovisioned after your session. There is no way to incur costs or affect any production environment.
Yes. Enterprise accounts can provision lab access for hands-on team practice, upskilling exercises, and pre-deployment rehearsals independent of formal course enrollment. Contact us via the quote form to discuss lab-only access options.
Cisco networking (CCNA/CCNP), AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator (AZ-104), CompTIA PenTest+, and Kubernetes (CKA) courses carry the deepest lab coverage — often 15 to 30 individual lab exercises per course. Browse the full list on each course catalog page.
